Everlasting Cowl
Warm yet surprisingly light weight cowl. One massive loop of garter stitch; so easy knit and wear.
The Size: 8.5" high x 90" around
The Materials: Lang Jawoll Magic, 2 sk
US #7 circular needle - 29" or longer
The Model Shown in:
Lang Jawoll Magic; 84-26
The Gauge: 18 sts/4 inches and 20 ridges/4 inches in garter stitch
The Definitions: K2tog = knit 2 stitches together (single decrease)
P2tog = purl 2 stitches together (single decrease)
Yo = yarn over (single increase)
The Knitting: Cast on 400 sts. Connect being careful not to twist. Place marker. Entire cowl is worked in
garter stitch; when knitting in the round, garter stitch is *knit 1 round, purl 1 round* repeat * to *. The added
interest here is when you reach the jet black sections of Jawoll Magic: "yo, k2tog" or "yo, p2tog" depending on which round
you're on. Do this only in the black sections. Bind off in knit or purl to keep the pattern in garter stitch.
Connection option: work several rows back and forth in garter (knit every row) for an inch and then connect the circle.
Stitch up the open seam with tail from cast on.
